About Michael Weir

Michael is a Professor of Law at Bond University on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Michael has broad professional experience as a solicitor in private legal practice in commercial and property law.
In his academic career Michael has published extensively on Land Law and Planning Law. He is an author of Real Property Law in Queensland, LBC (2nd edition, 2004).
Michael has a research interest in Medicine and the Law with a focus on complementary and alternative medicine and law and ethics. This interest is reflected in the student textbook Complementary Medicine: Ethics and Law, Prometheus Publications (illustrated on left) in 2000 (with second edition published in 2003 and third edition in 2007).
In 2004 Michael graduated with a PhD from Bond University on a topic 'A New Model for the Regulation of Complementary and Alternative medicine'. Accordingly he is an expert in the legal and ethical obligations of CAM practitioners.
